Worchel, Ewald A. (26 APR 1894 - 21 NOV 1975)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe for Ewald A. Worchel, 81, who died at the Clark County Home at Owen Friday. The Rev. Ralph O. Stuebs, pastor, officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Worchel was born April 26, 1894, in Eau Claire County and moved to Clark County at the age of seven. He received his education here. And was married March 28, 1917, in Clark County to the former Lilla H. Boyer. They farmed in the Town of Seif until 1935, and he worked as a livestock trucker until he retired in 1942 due to ill health. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe.

Survivors include five children, Louis Worchel, Neillsville, Mrs. Harvey (Edith) Howard, Monona, Iowa, Calvin Worchel, Glenview, Ill., Ardell Worchel, Manchester, N.H., and Mrs. Norman (Mardene) Waldhause, Sussex; a sister, Mrs. George (Marie) Manthey, South Haven, Mich.; one brother, Eugene, Green Lake; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is wife in 1987, and also by a son, a daughter and four half-sisters.

Worchel, Ewald (26 April 1894 – 21 November 1975)

Longtime county resident, Ewald A. Worchel, 81, of the Clark County Home at Owen, died Friday, November 21, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe with the Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Worchel, the son of August and Alvina Kauffman Worchel, was born April 26, 1894, in Eau Claire County and came to Clark County at the age of seven, receiving his education in local schools. His marriage to the former Lilla H. Boyer took place March 28, 1917, in Clark County. Mrs. Worchel preceded her husband in death in 1967.

Mr. Worchel farmed in the Town of Seif until 1935. He was a livestock trucker until 1942 when he retired due to failing health. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe.

Survivors include five children, Louis Worchel of Neillsville, Mrs. Harvey (Edith) Howard of Monona, Ia., Calvin Worchel of Glenview, Il., Ardell Worchel of Manchester, N.H., and Mrs. Norman (Mardene) Waldhause of Sussex; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. George (Marie) Mathey of South Haven, Mi., and a brother, Eugene Worchel of Green Lake.
