Krucker, Peter (16 AUG 1837 - 8 APR 1911)

Peter Krucker, the last one of the original town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis. homesteaders to leave the town, died at his farm home at 7 o’clock, Saturday morning, April 8th, 1911, from chronic Bright’s disease, aged 73 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Deceased was born at Lolland, Denmark, on Aug. 16th, 1837, and in 1866 came to this country and settled in the town of Winchester, Winnebago Co., Wis., where he resided until 1873, when he came to Colby, and took up a homestead in the town of Hull, where he continued to reside up to his death. After a long, busy and useful life he died as he had lived, honored, trusted and loved. He leaves to mourn his death, three children, Robert of Ipswich, S.D., Hannah (Mrs. Mike Stewart) of Plainfield, Wis., and Leonard who still resides on the home farm, all of whom were here to attend the funeral.

The funeral was held from the M.E. Church in this city, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. Bastow, and the remains laid to rest beside those of his wife who died Nov. 27th, 1909, in Colby Cemetery.

The children wish to return a heartfelt thanks to the friends who assisted them during the sickness and burial of their father.
