Wasserburger, Henry (6 April 1891 - 2 Aug. 1982)

Neillsville - Services for Henry C. Wasserburger, 91, of 1101 Grand Ave, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. Mr. Wasserburger died Monday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. James J. Lesczynski of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles, Richard, Scott and Thomas Wegner and Bernard and Bruce Langreck.

Friends may call from 509 p.m. today and until time of services Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.

Mr. Wasserburger was born April 6, 1891 at Neillsville to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Mary Zeller) Wasserburger and received his education here. He worked in his father’s tavern and also did electrical work before entering the U. S. Army, serving with the Third Army Headquarters in France and Germany.

Following his discharge he returned to Neillsville and worked at the C. C. Wasserburger and Co. store on West Seventh Street. He later became owner of the business, which he operated until his retirement. The store closed in 1981.

He married the former Martha Dux July 14, 1921 at Neillsville, Wis. She died Oct. 2, 1964.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Bernita) Wegner and Mrs. Delbert (Leona) Langreck, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. William (Marian) Boller, Wausau; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Sherman, Mt. Calvary; and 10 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.
