Lawson, Arlo W. (29 May 1920 - 3 Dec. 1982)

Neillsville - Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gesche Funeral Home for Arlo W. Lawson, 62, of Route 1, who died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

The Rev. Gary L. Clark of United Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be at Neillsville Cemetery with military rites conducted by Haugen-Richmond Post 73 of the American Legion of which he was a member.

Pallbearers will be James Doud, Duane Peterson, Emil Hauri, John Walk, Alan Mohr and Wilbert Henchen.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 pm. Sunday and again Monday until time for services.

Mr. Lawson was born May 29, 1920 in the Town of Sherwood to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph M. (Nettie Lunderville) Lawson. He was educated there and at Merrillan and worked at several jobs before entering the armed forces Aug. 1, 19423. He served as a sergeant at 67th General Hospital and was discharged Oct. 8, 1945.

After his discharge, he purchased a rural milk route and was a milk hauler for more than 35 years. During that time he also farmed for 11 years in the Town of Pine Valley. An avid hunter, and fisherman, he retired from milk hauling in July 1961.

He and Mildred Shramek were married Feb. 9, 1946 at Neillsville, Wis. She survives with a son, Richard of Eau Claire; his father, Ralph W. Lawson, Neillsville; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother and a brother, Harold.
