Kaufman, Gertrude (19 FEB 1856 - 12 JUL 1935)
Mrs. Gertrude Kaufman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alvin Truckey, in the town of Reseburg, Clark Co., Wis., Friday evening, July 12th, 1935, being 79 years of age.
Gertrude Porten was born at Manitowoc, Wis., on Feb. 19, 1856. On July 25, 1881, she was united in marriage to John Kaufman who preceded her in death thirty-four years ago. She leaves to mourn, two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Truckey of Thorp, and Mrs. Fred Gorsegner of New Jersey; one son, John, died nineteen years ago; one sister, Mrs. Kate Robinson of Huntington, Ind.; three brothers, Frank Porten of Thorp, Joseph of Owatonna, Minn., and Peter of Gary, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Church Monday morning, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating. Interment took place in the parish cemetery.
Those from away who were her to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Porten, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Parker, Mrs. Fred Chladek of Owatonna, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ole Tronsen of Wittenberg, Wis., Mrs. Fred Gorsegner and daughter of New Jersey, Mrs. Emily Truckey and son Anton, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Greenwood and son of Green Bay.
