Smith, Mrs. Jim (1872 - 19 AUG 1935)

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith were sad to hear of the fatal accident that caused the death of Mrs. Smith. On Monday, August 19th Mr. and Mrs. Smith left their home near Curtis to drive to Chetek where they were planning on spending two weeks attending the Free Methodist Camp meeting and conference, they were as far as Chippewa Falls where they were stopping at the Old Peoples Home for Mrs. Bolton, Who was a resident of York a few years ago. When they were near the home a car crashed into theirs throwing Mrs. Smith out. She received a skull fracture and died Tuesday. Her funeral was held on Thursday. She was 63 years of age and leaves 10 children, 46 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith was not injured. Sympathy of his many friends goes out to him in his bereavement.
