Wegner, Walter C. (17 FEB 1900 - 8 SEP 1986)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Private committal services were held at 1 p.m. today at Neillsville Cemetery for Walter C. Wegner, 86, of 301 Sunset Place, who died Monday at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, Wis.

The Rev. Mark Voll of United Church of Christ, Neillsville, officiated. There were no visitations. Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wegner was born Feb. 17, 1900, in the town of Weston, to Charles and Anna (Lang) Wegner. He attended school in the town of Weston, Clark Co. and then farmed in that township for many years. For 18 years he owned and operated a tavern in Loyal. After retiring, he moved to Hayward, and for the past 16 years has resided in Neillsville, Wis.

He married Marie Ehlert, Oct. 1, 1924, in Neillsville, Wis. She died Oct. 31, 1985.

Surviving are a sister, Minnie Kalsow, Neillsville, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Margaret and Elsie.
