Fasbender, Hubert A. (31 DEC 1836 - 17 OCT 1909)

Died, Hubert Adam Fasbender, at his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Sunday morning, Oct. 17, 1909, of heart failure following tuberculosis of the lungs, in the 73rd year of his age.

Deceased was born in Cologne, Germany, Dec. 31st, 1836; came to America in 1861, and resided in Dodge Co., Wis. for twenty years, working at his trade, that of miller, in Beaver Dam, Mayville and Horicon. He came to Colby in 1881, and settled on the farm where he died, three miles east of the city. He was married at Columbus to Maranda M. Thompson. He is survived by his wife and seven children. The sons and daughters are: Mrs. Mary Brennan of Oakley, Minn., Alfred of Spearfish, S.D., Emil at home, Mrs. Hattie Parr of Fifield, Frank of Dorchester, Mrs. Coetie Buettner of Schofield, and Corvin of Wausau, all of whom, except Alfred, were here to attend the funeral.

Mr. Fasbender was held in high regard by his neighbors and friends, and held many offices of trust in his town. He was town clerk eight years, treasurer one year, and secretary of the Hull Town Mutual Fire Insurance Co., for six years.

The funeral was held from the M.E. Church in this city (Colby, Clark Co.), Wednesday afternoon, the pastor Rev. R. Prescott officiating, and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives.
