Leichtnam, Anne (17 MAY 1865 - 16 FEB 1908)

Mrs. Henry Schroeder of the Southside passed away last Sunday as a result of childbirth, after only four days of illness. She would have been 43 years old on the 17th of the coming May. She was born at St. Nazianz, this country, and her maiden name was Anne Leichtnam. In 1884 she was married to Henry Schroeder, a brother of Ferdinand and William Schroeder of this city, and soon after went with him to Abbotsford, Wis. to reside. Two years ago the family came to this city to reside. Her bereaved husband and six children survive her. A three year old son of hers died about three weeks ago of cerebrospinal meningitis and grief over this is thought to have caused the childbirth trouble which ended her life. The funeral will take place from St. Luke’s Church tomorrow morning. The dead woman was a devoted wife and mother, and her sorrowing family have the sympathy of many neighbors and friends (Two Rivers Chronicle)

Mrs. Schroeder was the eldest daughter of Martin Leichtnam of the town of Mayville, Clark Co., and sister of Mrs. Mile Firnstahl and Mrs. Wm. Herrmann of this place. The family resided on a farm just north of the city for several years previous to their removal to Two Rivers. She died Sunday the 9th and the funeral was held Wednesday the 12 inst.
