Rienow, Charles (1861 - 21 DEC 1904)

Charles Rienow, chairman of the county board of supervisors, died yesterday (Dec. 21st) at his farm home one mile from the village of Spencer, Wis., after an illness of several months duration. The funeral will be held from the home next Saturday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Imm.

Deceased was 43 years of age. He was born in Germany but came to the United States in 1868. In 1879 he came to Marathon Co., Wis., purchasing the farm upon which he had lived ever since. April 5, 1888, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma Huebner of Waukesha and four children survive their union, one son and three daughters. He is also survived by his wife and two brothers, Fred of this city and Will of Clark Co., Wis., a half brother, Herman Iblenfelt of Marshfield, a half sister, Mrs. Aug. Beichsel of Marshfield, and his mother, Mrs. Louis Wittman of Marshfield.

Mr. Rienow had been a member of the county board of supervisors since 1895 and at the time of his death was serving his second term as chairman of that body. He had held town offices almost since he came to Eau Pleine and was faithful to every trust. No citizen of the country was held in higher esteem or more fully trusted, and this trust and faith of his friends and neighbors was fully deserved. In his death the county loses a valuable citizen and the people of the county a faithful friend. (Wausau Record)

Supervisor H.J. Blanchard of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) attended the funeral.
