Edwards, Lulu (11 Sept. 1883 - 1966)
Colby - Mrs. Lulu Edwards, 83, Colby, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. She had been in ill health for the past several months.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Church of Christ at Colby with the Rev. Kenneth Dix officiating. Burial will be made in the Riverside Cemetery at Withee.
The former Lulu Gulso was born Sept. 11, 1883, at Mt. Pulaski, Ill., and was married there Jan. 24, 1906, to Elmer Edwards, who preceded her in death in April, 1947.
After their marriage, the couple farmed at Mt. Pulaski until 1921 when they moved to a farm in the town of Green Grove, Clark County. Since 1948, Mrs. Edwards had made her home in Colby.
She was a member of the Ladies Guild of the First United Church of Christ at Colby, and the Blue Sky Garden Club.
Survivors are three sons, Herschel, Stevens Point; Louis, Loyal; and George, Stetsonville; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Luella) Molle, and Mrs. Harold (Dorthaleen) Hardrath, Unity; and Mrs. Walter (Mary) Hardrath, Spencer; two sisters, Misses Sophia and Rose Gulso, Mt. Pulaski, Ill.; four brothers, Oliver, Edward and Neal, Mt. Pulaski, Ill; and Lawrence, Dawson, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
