Dunow, William H. (19 AUG 1940 - 8 DEC 2005)

William H. Dunow, 65, Owen, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at his home of Hoard residence under the loving care of his family and Ministry Home Care Hospice. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. Burial was in St. Paul’s Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

William Henry Dunow was born on Aug. 19, 1940, in the town of Hoard, rural Owen, to Henry and Virginia (nee Sheets) Dunow. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years at Camp Pendelton In a military police and heavy equipment division. On Nov. 4, 1961, he married Judy Beisner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. They farmed in the town of Hoard for 44 years and he worked for the town of hoard as a patrol man. He served as town chairman for 14 years and currently was town of Hoard supervisor. He also worked as a part-time rural mail carrier for Owen, Wis. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. After his retirement in 2002, his pride and joy was being crew s chief for his son, Donald, who races in the mini-stock division at Marshfield Super Speedway. His special love was sharing with his children and grandchildren.

He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 44 years, Judy Dunow, Owen; children, Patrick Dunow, Abbotsford, Renee (Brian Rickert) Dunow, Medford, Carolyn Dunow, Burnsville, Minn., Donald Dunow, Boyd, Jeanne (Jeremy Totzke) Dunow, Abbotsford; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Allan (Diane) Dunow, Crowley, Texas; a sister, Beverly Grilc, Milwaukee; and his canine buddy, Barney.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Richard Dunow.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
