Ockerl, Harry (23 SEP 1915 - 4 DEC 2005)

Harry Ockerl, 90, Neillsville, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at 5:40 p.m. at the Marshfield Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m., on Thursday Dec. 8, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis. The Rev. James Mohr will officiate.

Harry Ockerl was born on Sept. 23, 1915, in Milwaukee, to Henry and Helen (nee Einz) Ockerl. He moved to Neillsville with his family as a young boy, where he farmed the family farm until he retired. He married Dorothy May Holmes in 1945. They had three children, Robert, Barbara and Betty. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, the wildlife, fishing, hunting, growing a garden, feeding the birds and reminiscing and joking about the old times with familt and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Robert Ockerl; two daughters, Barbara Jerome, Holcombe, and Betty (Gene Weyer ) Ockerl, Marshfield; four grandchildren, Kenny, Jimmy, Christina and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Lukus and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his dad, Henry; his mother, Helen; his sisters, Rose Kuenkle and Ida Plautz; one great-granddaughter, Alesha Mohr; one nephew, David Volovsek; and a son-in-law, George Jerome.

Gesche Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
