Eggebrecht, Caroline (25 JUL 1831 - APR 1900)

Caroline Schuett was born at Lockenzen, Prussia on July 25th, 1831; she was united in marriage with Fred Eggebrecht, March 28th, 1852, and came with her husband to America in 1855, locating in Milwaukee where they resided eleven years; they then removed to Appleton, where they resided seven years, then in Beaver Dam three years and in Wein, Marathon Co. twenty-three years; she was the mother of nine children, eight of whom are living, and al in that immediate vicinity, except Mrs. J.J. Shafer residing in the city (Colby, Clark County, Wis.); they, with the husband, twenty-five grandchildren, a sister in Milwaukee and a brother in Germany, mourn her death.

The funeral was held on Friday from St. Johannes' Lutheran Church, Rev. Carl Schmalz officiating. The appreciation and esteem in which she was held was, in measure, evidenced by the immense concourse of people that attended the funeral.
