Warren, Joseph F. (18 DEC 1821 - 5 AUG 1898)

Died, at Abbotsford, Wis., on Friday, Aug. 5th, 1898, Joseph Franklin, Warren, in his 77th year.

Mr. Warren was born in Edinburgh, Saratoga Co., N.Y., Dec 18th, 1821; was united in marriage with Deborah A. Smith in 1843; in 1854 he came to Wisconsin and located at Madison; in 1876 he removed with his family to Spring Valley, Minn., and in 1895 came to Abbotsford, where he has since resided.

For a little more than a year past he has been a great but patient sufferer from gangrene in the lower limbs, and had undergone three operations in the attempt to arrest the ravages of the disease, but which proved fruitless, except to prolong life for a time.

He was the father of 4 children, 3 sons, S.K. of Spring Valley, Minn., T.F. of Minneapolis, Minn., and M.A., San Francisco, Calif., and 1 daughter, Mrs. R.C. Tennant of Abbotsford, all of whom, with the devoted wife, who has journeyed life’s troublous seas with him for fifty-five years, mourn a kind and indulgent parent and an ever loving husband.

Mr. Warren was an ever respected citizen of the community in which he lived, and all will truly say a good man has gone to his just reward.

The funeral occurred at the Chapel in Abbotsford, Sunday afternoon, Rev. Brickles of Auburndale, officiating. The interment was in Colby Cemetery, to which place the remains were escorted by a large concourse of mourning and sympathizing friends.
