Hastings, Margaret I. (15 JAN 1888 - 16 FEB 1935)

Margaret Irene Flaherty was born in Loyal Wis., January 15, 1888, and passed away at the Medford Clinic, February 16, 1935, aged 47 years, 1 month, and 1 day. She attended Loyal High School and later the Business College at Appleton, Wis.

Margaret was well known in Loyal as she was telephone operator here for some years and also clerked in the local stores. She left Loyal in 1915 and removed to Bismarck, N. D. where she was employed by the Webb Bros, Department Store, until April 11, 1919, when she was married to Fred Hastings, of that city.

In 1939 she and her husband moved to Perkinstown to live near her patents. She was well liked by all who knew her as she always took great pleasure in doing things to please others.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flaherty, Perkinstown, Wis., three sisters, Mrs. Harry Stoneberg, Cottage Grove, Oregon; Mrs. Frank Beaver of Loyal, and Mrs. F. Duell, Greenwood, Wis., also two brothers, Vincent and Eugene of Perkinstown. One brother, John, is deceased. Besides those mentioned above, she leaves many other relatives and friends.

The flower girls were Dorothy Duell and Evelyn Beaver, nieces of the deceased.

Pall bearers were: Ralph Philpott, Ray Kauffman, Alfred Castner, Albert Davel, Joe Vogel and Oscar Etta.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church at 2 o’clock Wednesday, February 20th, the Rev. Austin N. Chapman officiating. She was laid to rest beside her brother in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
