Wicker, Mary (4 JUN 1880 - 6 JUL 1896)

Died, at the home of her mother in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Monday, July 6th, 1896, of consumption, Mary, youngest daughter of Mrs. Emaline Wicker, aged 16 years, 1 months and 2 days.

Mary Wicker was born on the homestead where she died, June 4th, 1880, and there she has lived since, surrounded by relatives and friends, and of the latter she had many. Mary has long been failing but no immediate fears were felt until last spring, when the family began to believe her lungs were affected, she then went to Milwaukee where she was examined by some of the best physicians but received very little consolation and returned home about five weeks ago, since when she has been steadily failing, but remained the same cheerful, patient sufferer to the end. She leaves a mother, five brothers and three sisters, besides a host of friends to mourn her early demise.

The funeral occurred at the M. E. Church yesterday, and the interment at Colby Cemetery, Rev. C. H. Chase officiating.
