Withee Resident Dies at Age 72

Withee--Mrs. Arno (Margaret) Vater, 72, Withee, died at 7 a.m. Monday at the Neillsville Memorial Home of complications following a stroke.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Woodring, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Riverside cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Wednesday.

The former Margaret Estella Richelieu was born Sept. 8, 1897, at Greenwood, where she received her education. Her marriage to Arno Vater took place May 31, 1922 , at Owen, Wis. The couple lived on a farm north of Withee most of their married life.

For the past several years she served as a correspondent for the Marshfield News-Herald, reporting news from the Owen area. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Speich, Greenwood, and Mrs. Felix Adams, Milwaukee.
