Aerial Gunner - Sgt. Harold W. Goetsch, son of Rev. M. C. Goetsch, Colby, is stationed at Rattlesnake Bomber Base, Pyote, Texas, where he is completing his operational training in preparation for combat duty. Sgt. Goetsch is the tail gunner and first armorer on a B-17 Flying Fortress. Sgt. Goetsch entered service in January, 1943, and received his basic training in the Air Forces at Miami Beach, Fla., graduating from the Heavy Bombardment Armament Technical Training School at Lowry Field, Colo. He was awarded his wings at Laredo Army Airfield, Texas, where he completed the aerial gunnery course in September, 1943. Prior to his entry into service, he was a student at Whitewater State Teachers College.
