Mathison, Eva I. (21 AUG 1901 - 18 DEC 1934)

This community was saddened on Thursday when the word came that Eva Mathison had passed away on Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, at a Winona, Minnesota hospital. Her death was due to cancer.

Eva Ione Mathison, 33, was born at Loyal August 21, 1901. She was a graduate of Loyal High School in 1918, and in 1922 of Ripon college, where she earned an A. B. degree. Since that time she has been engaged in teaching in high schools of Wisconsin and other states for 10 years, but was attending business college at Winona when taken ill. Eva as she is known to many of here, was of a cheery and happy disposition and had the love and esteem of a large circle of friends who mourn her death.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mathison, Greenwood, a brother Chester, Milwaukee; her grandmother Mrs.. K. Mathison, of Greenwood; besides other relatives. Funeral services were held at the home in Greenwood Thursday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Methodist Church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Glenn Shanks officiated. She was laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery.

Beautiful and numerous floral pieces showed the esteem in which the departed one was held.
