Mabel Kozlowski, age 86, of Neillsville, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Mabel Frances Kozlowski was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in Neillsville the daughter of Celia Finder. During her childhood she lived in the Globe area and attended school in Christie. After her schooling, she was a waitress for Otto Lewerenz for a short time, and then she went to work for Auto Test. She worked there for many years as an assembler until her retirement.

She was united in marriage to earl Ewing in 1937, and later to Walter Kozlowski in September of 1954. Mabel was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. She loved to travel and garden, and she loved feeding her animals, especially the squirrels.

Surviving is a daughter, Margaret (Walter) Michalak and one son, Harold "Pete" (Sue) Ewing, both of Neillsville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;8 great-great grand-children; 10 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Finder of Neillsville; one nephew and two nieces.

Preceding her in death are two husbands; three granddaughters, Marilyn, Carol and Barbara Ewing; one great-grandson, Danny Riddle; a brother Walter Finder and parents.

Funeral se4rvices for Mabel will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 5, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate. Music selections will be provided by, Sharon Nemitz organist, and the School Choir. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.

Casket bearers are: Bill Riddle, Gary Meihak, Jim Reichenbach, Kipp Beck, Mark Wojner, Mike, Bradley and Dennis Ewing.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
