Marvin, Earl H. (4 SEP 1875 - 2? MAR 1933)

Earl Henry Marvin, son of Elisha B. and Eliza A. Marvin, was born at Mather, Wisconsin, Juneau County, September 4, 1875. His childhood was spent at Mather and Kendall. He attended rural school at Mather and graduated from the high school at Wilton, Wisconsin. From there he went to LaCrosse, where he worked his way through Business College.

He was united in marriage to Mable Belle Saunders of Plainfield, Wisconsin on June 29, 1903. In 1914 the family moved to a farm north of Loyal, living there up to the present time. Three children were born to this happy union. They with his wife, survive to mourn his loss.

He was a kind, loving husband and father and a generous, helpful neighbor. His presence will be greatly missed at the home and in the community. Struggling against ill health he managed to keep his farm home against impending odds. The fact that he was ill and the fact that he knew he was not capable to take part in world activities barred him from many social affairs, a loss which he, as well as his family, keenly felt. He was interested in the welfare of his country and in the betterment of his community doing all he could to promote those causes.

Those who mourn his loss are his wife, Mrs. Mable B. Marvin, three children, Lloyd Leon Marvin, at home, Phyllis Ione (Mrs. Ignatius F. Ehrenreich) of Marshfield, Ruby Lucille Marvin at home, and now attending State Teacher’s College at Milwaukee. Three brothers and four sisters survive the deceased: Freemont Marvin of Kendall, Ray Marvin of Hollywood, California; Earnest Marvin of Shennington; Clara, Mrs. Clark Treat of Millston; Lois, Mrs. Will McLean of Milwaukee; Bertie Marvin of Madison; and Lelah, Mrs. F. Rogers of Shennington, Wis. His parents and four sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon in the local M. E. Church, the Rev. Maddock of Greenwood officiating. Burial was made in the Dodgeville Cemetery.

The pall bearers were Albert Luchterhand, Frank Pink, Archie Dorn, John Bannach, William Seeman and William Rusch.

The flowers were in charge of Blanche Kline, Helen Rusch, Marion Rusch and Alva Callahan.

The relatives from away were: Mrs. Will McLean, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers,,Shennington, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Clark Treat, Millston, Wis., Mr. Ray Marvin, Westfield, Wis., Mrs. Ward Staples, Almond; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krueger, Almond; Mrs. Susan Hughes, Almond; Mrs. Elmer Martin, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. C.
