Louis P. "Bud" Felten, 80, Spencer, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12, at the Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield. The Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiated. Burial was in the Brooklawm Memory Gardens Cemetery, town of Richland. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers.

Louis P. Felten was born on May 13, 1925, in the town of McMillan, Marathon County, to Joseph and Alice (nee Krause) Felten. He attended St. John’s School and Marshfield Sewnior High School. He married Ila M. Johnson on Sept. 12, 1964, in Marshfield. As a young man, he worked for his grandparents at the Marshfield Brick Yard on Mann Road. He then worked for the Trierweiler Construction, retiring in 1990 as a foreman of a crew. He was a 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Local #139. He enjoyed putting puzzles together, cards, reading and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Ila; two sons, Gary (Barbara) Millard, Marshfield, and Lee Millard, Spencer; two grandchildren, Lisa (William) Gratzek, Marshfield, and Sara Meyer, Geneva, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Gratzek and Heather John Meyer; two brothers, Richard (Rita) Felten, Winter, and Charles (Leslie) Felten, Rhinelander; and two sisters, Bess (Bob) Gadke, Ceres, Calif., and Gen (Gene) Welch, Stockton, Calif.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Loren, during the Vietnam War in 1968; and a grandson, John Meyer, in 1996.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.
