Rose Ann Rose (Marriage - 27 May1972)

Miss Rose Ann Rose became the bride of Gary Peter Chriske in a double-ring ceremony performed Saturday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Richard Eggen officiated. Mrs. and Mrs. Grant Rose of Rt. 1 Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Everon Chriske of Stevens Point are the couples’ parents.

For her marriage, the ride chose a white dotted-Swiss A-line gown trimmed with lace and featuring a chapel-length sweep train. Her three-tiered, elbow-length illusion veil fell from a Camelot headpiece. She carried a single, long-stemmed red glamelia as she was given in marriage by her father.

Miss Elsie Garbisch, Granton, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Sue Fortune, Stevens Point, and Miss Judy Wiegel, Marshfield. The attendants wore gowns of blue dotted-Swiss accented by white lace trim and highlighted by wide-brimmed white hats. Each carried a single, long-stemmed yellow glamelia.

Mac Rinka, Stevens Point, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Douglas Firkus, Stevens Point, and Harlan Rose, Granton. Guests were seated by Chuck Chriske and Roger Nitschke.

Soloist Susan Dudei was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Billie Garbisch. A wedding reception was held at Bali Hai supper club.

Both the bride and groom graduated May 14 from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, she with a major in kindergarten-primary education, and he with a major in history. The groom was also commissioned that same day as a second lieutenant in the army. The newlyweds will make their home at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
