Zimmermann, Mary (1 OCT 1834 - 22 Jul 1920)

After a long illness that confined her to her bed for about five weeks, Grandma Zimmerman passed from earthly existence to her Heavenly Home, on Thursday night, July 22, 1920, at the advanced age of nearly 86 years.

Mrs. Zimmermann, whose maiden name was Mary Falk, was born in Volene, Germany. There she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage with Mr. Carl Zimmermann in 1856. Twelve years alter the family immigrated to America, and located at Milford, Wis., where they resided for three years. They moved from Milford to a farm west of Nettleton's Corners in 1871, and that was their home until seven years ago, when old age necessitated their giving up the farm labors, and they went to live with their son Charles. Two years ago, July 31, 1918, the husband and father died. Mrs. Zimmermann was born on Oct. 1, 1834. She is survived by three sons, Fred of Sparta, Charles of the town of Alma, and Gustav of Merrillan.

Funeral services were held at the home of her son on Sunday afternoon, and were attended by a large congregation of neighbors and old friends. Revs. Hillman of Eau Claire, and Eilert of Augusta, pastors of the Evangelical Church, of which the deceased was a communicant, officiated. Burial was in the Houghtonburg Cemetery. Her son Fred was unable to attend the funeral on account of the seriousness of his wife, and her son Gustav was not present on account of being absent on an auto trip to Idaho.
