Russell, Charles H. (17 Mar 1856 - 9 May 1918)

Charles H. Russell, son of Walter and Cornelia Russell, was born at Appleton, March 17, 1856. His home was in that vicinity until Jan. 4, 1882, when he was united in marriage with Miss Adeline Smith of Nettleton's Corners, and for a number of years the family made their home on the farm there. Fifteen years ago last fall Mr. Russell and family moved into the village (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) and engaged in the hotel business. For the past few years business interests have taken him to other places the greater part of the time, but the home has always been maintained here. Death occurred after a few hours' illness, at Prentice, May 9, 1918, at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 22 days.

The remains were brought to this village last Friday morning, and the funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon, rev. Robert Pow officiating. A large number of friends and neighbors were in attendance at the services. Burial was in the Houghtonburg Cemetery.

Mr. Russell leaves to mourn his sudden taking away, his wife and five children, Mrs. Elsie Field of Millston; Zene of Auburndale; Hugh, Mark and Ray of Humbird. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters. Those from away here to attend the funeral services were, Mrs. Elsie Field and family, Millston; Zene Russell and family, Auburndale; a brother Ray Russell, Fond du Lac; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Glazier of Appleton.
