The Owen-Withee Board of Education has employed Mr. Art Feldman as Assistant Junior High Principal. The discussion and the approval by the board to extend Mr. Feldman a contract for this position occurred during the last meeting of the board during their executive session, November 14, 1977.

As Assistant Junior High Principal, Mr. Feldman will be in charge of the Junior High and all of its activities and other duties as will be assigned. He will also continue to serve as Athletic Director.

Mr. Feldman began his teaching career at Owen-Withee nineteen years ago, starting off as a physical education teacher and coach. In the fall of 1962 he took over the position of Athletic Director of O-W after John Shier left the position. Over the years he has coached just about all sports, head football, head basketball, etc.

He is originally from Wonewoc, Wisconsin. He earned his BS degree at Stevens Point, and his MA from UW- La Crosse. He and his wife Alice have two daughters, Sarah age 12 and Shelly age 10, and live in Owen.

Mr. Feldman has technically served in the position that he now assumes officially since the beginning of this school term. Commenting on his new official position, Mrs. Feldman said: “I hope that we (myself and Mrs. Hazleton) can spend more time on the positive aspects now, rather than the concern for the negative.”
