Terrell, Frances E. (2 NOV 1838 - 16 Apr 1913)

Our community is called upon to mourn the death of Mrs. Frances E. Terrell, which occurred on Wednesday morning, April 16, 1913, being caused by a stroke of apoplexy. Frances E. Sperry was born at Springport, Cayuga Co., N.Y., Nov. 2, 1838. She was married to Mr. George Terrell at Scio, N.Y., July 4, 1855, and in 1857 moved to Adams Co., Wis., where they resided one years; moving from there to Sauk Co., and after five years residence at this place moved to Jackson Co., where she has since resided.

Eight children were born to this union, three having died years ago; one was a young man and the other two were small children. Her husband passed away ten years ago.

Mrs. Terrell had been in poor health for a number of years, which prevented her from going out amongst her friends. She was of naturally a quiet and retired disposition; was a good Christian woman, always having a kind and comforting word for everyone, and we feel that our community has met with a sad loss. She leaves to mourn her death five children, three sons, Floyd, Orren and George; two daughters, Mrs. C. B. Travis and Lois Terrell, all of whom were present when the final summons came. She leaves, besides her children, six grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at the home Friday afternoon at one o'clock and the remains will be taken to Houghtonburg for burial. The grief stricken family has the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of a faithful and devoted mother.
