I can't thank you enough for the diligent work you and your volunteers do. I have been searching for years to find out the whole story of what happened to my Grandfather. Thanks to you I was also able to get some of my other relatives obits to print and file. My Grandmother did remarry, to a man named Conrad Dettman. I don't know if she is buried next to him or Arthur Lube. I think the little girl mentioned in the obit was my Mom's oldest sister, Martha Lube (Nueman). Which thanks to you again, I found her Bio on her marriage in 1929. She is still alive, but not well. resides at Marshfield Nursing Home. My Mom, Verna, died in 1998, she was born in 1912, so she was 8 when this happened. I wish I could get to the Colby Cemetery myself, because that's where all of them are buried. Except for My Mom. We live in New Jersey, I was born in 1949, and raised in Wausau. But visited all my Mom's side of the family almost every week end. So I know the area well, even if I haven't been there since the late eighties. Still have a lot of relatives there.

Thought you might like to see the picture of my Grandfather with his family above. My Mom is the little blond girl in the front, next to her brother Herbie. Who's obit you also helped me find.

Christine,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Clark Co., WI site. My wife and I are volunteers for it and I recently recorded the Colby Cemetery. Consequently, I gleaned many old obits from the earliest papers there and this one was among them. What a tragic death for your grandfather and to think he wasn't yet 40 yrs. old. Was the 12 yr. old girl mentioned your mother? I can't imagine a child that young witnessing such a horrible event. It sounds like Haberger was a loner who was tough to deal with. Did Arthur's wife ever remarry?

Stan

My dad played the accordian in this band. His name is Glenn Herzberg. I have the original records of their recordings. If you have any pictures including him, I would be so incredibly grateful and indebted to you to be able to see. Even so, it is great to see this picture. Thanks so much for posting it!

This article was about my Grandfather Arthur Lube, I just wonder what relationship you might have to him.

Looking forward to your answer, Christine McElrath
