Dempsey, Faith A. (24 NOV 1878 - 18 Feb 1946)

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, Owen, by Dr. K. O. Crosby, at 10:15 Friday morning for Faith Alice Dempsey, 67, who passed away at her home Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1946. Interment will be made at Riverside Cemetery.

For the past year Mrs. Dempsey has been in poor health as a result of having suffered a stroke. However, she was able to be about the house, and realized much enjoyment despite her handicap. A week ago Sunday she suffered a second stroke, from which she never recovered.

Faith Alice Dempsey was born on Nov. 24, 1878 at Cherry Valley, Ill. On Nov. 4, 1903, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Dempsey, at Bomus, Ill. Until 1906 they resided at Belvidere, Ill. In 1906 they and their two children moved to Withee, Clark County, Wis., making their home there until 1916, at which time the family moved to Owen, where Mr. Dempsey operated a livery business.

Since 1916 Mrs. Dempsey had made her home in Owen with the exception of a couple of years when the family lived in Withee.

She is survived by five sons, Orin and Harry of Owen, Robert of Chicago, Glenn of Milwaukee, and Lewis, now in the army and stationed at Guam; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Elizabeth) King, Owen, and step-daughter, Mrs. Mable Forsaith of Belvidere, Ill., and a brother, Bert Gilbert of Santa Rosa, Calif. Mr. Dempsey preceded her in death on March 23, 1940. One brother, Harry Gilbert, passed away Dec. 1, 1945.

Pallbearers at the service will be henry Weddig, Kenneth King, Clarence Pyatt, Emil Hansen, Bert Cattanach and Victor Nielsen.
