Rohland, Elsie (Marriage - 15 Feb 1947)

Miss Elsie rohland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rohland, of Withee, Clark County, Wis., was united in marriage to Theodore Petke of Withee, Saturday, Feb. 15, 1947 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee.

The double ring ceremony was read by Rev. Walter Schedler. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The bridal party marched to the altar to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march.

The bride wore a gown of white flat crepe and chiffon, long fitted sleeves, and a fitted bodice. Her finger-tip veil bordered with lace was gathered from a beaded tiara. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, larkspur and sweet peas.

Her bridesmaids were Mrs. Julius Rohland and Ruth Petke, sisters of the groom. They wore identical gowns of aqua chiffon with matching blushers and carried bouquets of pink gladioli and larkspur.

Nancy Rohland, niece of the bride and groom, acted as flower girl. She wore a long white taffeta dress and carried a basket of sweet peas and larkspur.

The groom's attendants were Arthur Petke, brother of the groom, and Henry Rohland, brother of the bride.

The bride and groom's mother wore black crepe dresses with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of pink roses and sweet peas.

Before the ceremony Miss Dorothy Long accompanied by Mary Stuve, sang "I love You Truly" followed by "Because" at the conclusion. Dorothy wore a gown of pink net.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Rohland home. Dinner was served to 125 guests.

Guests from out of town were Ruth Petke, Henry Rohland, Emily Klabon, Eugene Knoppel and George Amend, all of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Maln Stryk of Lublin.
