Funeral services for Mrs. Belle (Jesse) D. Mortimer, 83, Neillsville, were held Friday from, the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer officiated. Burial was made in the Town of York Cemetery. She died October 16. Mrs. Mortimer wa born April 14, 1879, in Rosendale, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Jones) Davis. She received her education there and came with her parents to Clark County, locating in the Town of York, where she spent most of her lifetime. On June 25, 1902, she was married to the late Jesse Mortimer in the Town of York. They farmed for many years and moved to Neillsville in 1945. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Helen) Lawrence, Route 1, Granton; and a brother, Merton Davis of Cameron. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas funeral home. Pallbearers were: Louis Wiesner, George Hales, Herb Free, Horace Lawrence, Ed Voight and Emil M. Schoenfeld. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer officated and was assisted at the graveside rites by the Rev. Paul Doering of Loyal. "Under His Wings" and "Abide With Me" were sung by the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Doering, accompanied by Mrs. James A. Musil. People from out-of-town here for the services were: Mr. & Mrs. Merton Davis, Cameron; Mrs. Helen Davis, Massolin, O.; Mr. & Mrs. Leo Wollin and Miss Ruby Steffen, Watertown. Marvin Davis, Mr. & Mrs. Ivan Kronberger, Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg, Horace Lawrence, and Mrs. Byrl Lawrence, all of Marshfield; Mr. & Mrs. Frank Lulloff, Mr. & Mrs. Morvin Benedict and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Nyle Benedict and son, Mrs. Robert Prior and Maureen, and the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Doering, all of Loyal. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Davis and grandson, Stevens Point; Mr. & Mrs. Halen Davis and daughter, Mundelein, Illinois; Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Davis, Gary, Indiana; Miss Alice Jordan, Miss Bessie Mortimer, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Haas, Chilton; Mrs. Eliza Forman, Greenwood.
