Sister Imelda Wehe

Sister Imelda Wehe, 94, Wilmette, Ill., died Dec. 2, 2003. Funeral services were held on Dec. 6, at Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette.

Louise Margaret Wehe was born Dec. 5, 1909, in the Town of York, to Boniface and Anna Wehe. In October, 1927, she moved to Chicago, where she did housework. On Aug. 15, 1932, she entered the Sisters of Christian Charity Convent, Wilmette. On June 29, 1933 she received the name Sister Imelda. She taught schools in Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. From 1978 to 1983, she tutored at a school in Chicago. In 1983, she retired and took up residence at the Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette.

Survivors include three brothers, Bernard Wehe, Santa Barbara, Calif., Gene Wehe, Loyal, and Jerome Wehe, Loyal; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, John Wehe and Wilfred Wehe.
