Hansen, Hans J. (1856 - 3 Apr 1930)

Death early this morning called another pioneer settler of the town of Hixon, Clark County, Wis., when Hans Jorgen Hansen, passed away at the home of his son, Harry Hansen, three and one-half miles northwest of the village of Withee.

Mr. Hansen suffered a stroke several weeks ago, from which he never recovered, and beginning at that time his health rapidly failed. He was seventy-three years and six months of age, and for the past thirty years had made his home on the farm now owned and operated by his son.

In the early days he was a builder of violins, and was employed at this work in Chicago for several years before coming to Withee and settling on a farm. He was a native of Denmark. Mrs. Hansen preceded him in death only a few months ago. He was well and favorably known in the community in which he lived, and was one of the charter members of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon.
