Miller, Ruth G. (Marriage - Augl 1924)

A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized Saturday afternoon at 8 p.m. at Chippewa Falls, when Mr. John Theodore Mentges and Miss Ruth Gwendolyn Miller, both of Wausau, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, the Rev. L. A. Brenner, pastor of the First M. E. Church officiating.

The bride was attired in delft blue silk crepe and carried a bouquet of orchids and roses, while the maid of honor, Miss Ruth Mentges, a sister of the groom, wore turquoise blue crepe and carried sweet peas. Mr. John acted as best man and wore the conventional black.

Mr. Mentges is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mentges of Withee, Clark County, Wis., and spent the greater part of his life in that village with his parents, and two years ago went to Wausau after his graduation from high school, and entered the Wausau Business Institute. Since then he has held a responsible position with a Bond firm of that city.

The bride is a young lady well known to Withee people, having visited at the home of her husband's parents several times in the past two years. She is an accomplished young lady and is a graduate of the Wausau Business Institute.

After a short wedding trip they will be at home to their friends at 630 Fulton St., Wausau. Their many friends in Withee and vicinity wish for them success and happiness in their married life.
