CIRCUIT COURT MATTERS Fall Term Now in Session Though As Yet No Important Measures Have Come Up for Trial

The fall term of Circuit court for Clark county was convened in this city Monday morning by Judge O’Neill and according to the calendar the session is likely to extend over a period of three or four weeks. No important measures have as yet come up for trial but there are a number of criminal matters on the docket which will attract considerable attention and interest, among which are the Dorchester bank wrecking cases, John B. Spangler, defendant. It is yet uncertain just what time they will be called. The state vs James Lowe case, for the attempted murder of his wife early last summer has been put over to the next term. The state vs. Carl Luedtke, another murder case from the town of Levis, has been nolled there being insufficient evidence against the accused. The cases of Bredlan, charged with assault, the complainant being a woman 80 years of age, the defendant being a young man, an ex-Porto Rico soldier and of hitherto good reputation, and John Ward, charged with the burglary of the Trogner residence last winger, will probably be tried this term. The state vs Legarre Potter, an embezzlement case, has been continued to the next term. The case against Adolph Rogers on the charge of violating the game laws, it being alleged that he was hunting deer, was on trail as we went to press yesterday. The next matter of importance to come up will probably be the state vs Stevens and Young for the larceny of timber. Dist. Atty Marsh will prosecute and Sturdevant & Son will defend the matter.
