George Tucker, Sr. George Tucker, Sr. died at the home of his son October 1, 1921 at the age of 78 years 8 months and 25 days. He was born in Devonshire, England, January 6, 1843. He was married Jane Pugsley and to them were born six children, one dying in childhood. In Feb. 1881 his wife passed away while still in England. On April 25 1884 he came to the United States living for a few years in Illinois, and in September 1890 came to Clark Co., where he has since lived, making his home for the last 25 years with his son, George and family. The deceased enjoyed good health up to August 1, when he suffered a stroke and his eyesight also failed him so that for the past few months he was almost blind, but through it all he was very patient and considerate of others. He was a man that was highly respected by everyone in the community for he combined up-rightness and integrity in all his business and social relations. He leaves to mourn his loss five children, James, George and Mrs. Annie Mathison of Loyal, Mrs. Mary Uhrie of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Fred of North Crandon, Wisconsin, besides seven grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Greenwood Methodist church on October 4th, Rev J. H. Chatterson officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood cemetery.
