Henry Sterns arrived from Cloquent, Minn., about an hour after his sister had been laid away. He was with his crew beyond the reach of the telegraph, but every effort was made to reach him and although he did all possible to reach here in time for the funeral, he failed by a few moments.

Henry Billings, Jas. Taylor’s brother-in-law had his leg broken below the knee in two places last Saturday while on a load of hay which tipped over causing the accident. Drs. Esch & Lacey set the fractured limb and now the man is reported as recovering as rapidly as could be expected.

E. D. Webster returned home from the south Thursday morning with a fine span of carriage horses which he has just purchased for his already fine livery outfit. Gene keeps nothing but the best outfits and they are the best; his stable is as neat as a parlor and he knows how to please the public in the livery line.

Thursday last A. Barton drove up in front of Gates, Stanard & Co. grocery to leave an order and when driving away upset a case of eggs which projected so far over the edge of the sidewalk that the wheels of his buggy hit it and sent the hen fruit flying. Bro. Eyerly had a fine job sorting over eggs the rest of the day.
