The body of the late Lieut. Carl Thompson, a veteran of the World War, was brought to Curtiss, Clark County, Wis. on Friday evening of last week, from its resting place overseas, and on Sunday afternoon funeral services were held from the Norwegian Lutheran Church one mile west of that village, Rev. Norby of Abbotsford reading the sermon.

Carl Thompson was a graduate of the Colby High School and the University of Wisconsin class of 1913. After finishing at the university he worked with the U. S. soil survey until he entered the Second Officers' Training Camp at Fort Sheridan, Aug. 27, 1917, where he received his commission and left the following January for France, where he was in active service until his death.

Lieut. Thompson was born in Curtiss on Aug. 4, 1888, and left to mourn an aged father, five sisters and three brothers.
