Lillian Schweinler

A former Neillsville resident, Mrs. Lillian E. Schweinler, 88, of Caravilla Home, Janesville, died Thursday, March 29, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville Cemetery. Eastern Star services were held Friday evening.

Mrs. Schweinler, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis (Elisabeth) Creviere, was born March 3, 1885 in Phlox. Her marriage to Dr. Frederick W. Schweinler took place July 13, 1905 in Marshfield. After their marriage, the couple moved to Neillsville where he had a veterinary practice until his death in 1939. Mrs. Schweinler, who was a member of Carmi Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, continued to make her home in Neillsville until 1959.

Surviving are six children, Brig. Gen. (ret.) Francis F. Schweinler of Madison, Merritt C. Schweinler of Lake Geneva, Mrs. Earl (Ione) Bruhn of Neillsville, Col. (ret.) Dale J. Schweinler of Cape Coral, Fla., Mrs. Bud (Jeanette) Lynch of Mauston, and DeWayne Schweinler of Elroy; one sister, Mrs. Marie Derridinger of Green Bay; and 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jay Bruhn, Chester Williams, William Schweinler, Gary Schweinler, William Weiler, and Pat Lynch.

Mrs. May Peters sang "In the Garden" and "Just as I Am". The accompanist was Mrs. Deon. Spangler.

Those from out-of-town attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Francis Schweinler and Mrs. Robert A. McLean, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Schweinler, Lake Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Schweinler, Cape Coral, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Schweinler and Gary Schweinler, Elroy; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Lynch and Pat Lynch, Mauston; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bruhn, Marinette; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Williams and Mr. and Mrs. William Weiler, Milwaukee.
