(Marriage - 14 JUN 1928) Florence Volkmar,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Volkmar, was married to Mr. Alvin
Thede, son of Mrs. Simon Oggen, last Thursday, June 14, 1928, at
Colby, wis., Rev. R. E. Schwarze performing the marriage ceremony.
Emaline Volkmar acted as maid of honor and the groom was attended
by his brother, William Thede. The bride wore a
beautiful dress of all silk flat crepe and carried a bouquet of
seet peas and carnations. The maid of honor wore a dress of beige
flat crepe and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations. After the marriage
ceremony, the , the bridal party repaired to the home of the
bride's parents where a reception was held, the home being nicely
decorated with carnations for the occasion. In the evening, a free
wedding dance was given at Otto Brown's ,which was largely attended
by relatives, friends and neighbors. The out of town
guests here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Lehrman and
children, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Anderson and children, all of
Marshfield; Mrs. Simon Oggen, Mr. Wm. Thede and lady friend, Miss
Marion Albert and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jochimsen and daughters, Ruth
and Judith, all from New Holstein. The young couple,
for the present, will make their home with the bride's parents.
