Justice of the peace, Geo. A. Ure, uses a stick now to aid him in his meanderings about town as a consequence of too much base ball.

Mrs. F. H. Baker and little daughter, of Missour Valley Junction, Iowa, is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. S. Dixon, on Court street.

Harry Mead is liable to become a heavy iron mine owner, as lands which in owns in Taylor county show marked symptoms of the iron disease.

Lonie Gallaher has taken charge of H. A. Young & Co.’s flour and feed store and will undoubtedly prove to be the right man in the right place.

Robert Zimmerman spend several days the latter part of last week at the Dells and captured about two hundred pounds of the speckled beauties.

Barber Dixon was called upon "to take things as they come" last Monday, and remained at home to suffer a short attack of sickness. He’s OK now.

Mrs. Henry and Mrs. William Garvin, took last Monday morning’s train for Rockford, Eddy county, Dakota, at which place they will spend the summer.
