A couple of 14 year old school boys got into a quarrel in Jefferson last week, and one of them stabbed the other with a pocket knife, the result being death within five minutes.

THORP TIDINGS: C. F. Stone took his departure yesterday for Chicago where he will enter the Rush Medical College as a student. His wife accompanies him.

W. F. Mason leaves tomorrow for a visit with his relatives at Neillsville prior to his departure for Faulk county Dakota, where he will permanently located in the practice of the law.

Fred Sheldon, of Longwood, was in town last week with a load of produce which he readily disposed of to our merchants.

G. E. Bandercook, junior editor of the Spencer Tribune, spent Sunday in town visiting friends.

Eugene Wicker, of Colby, was in the village Sunday.

Misses May Wagner and Mary Diamond, sisters of postmaster Wagner and wife, are visiting here. They leave for Colby to-day.

Cas. Archambault, of Withee, came up to visit his wife on Saturday, returning to his camp on Monday.

Casper Krupp came up from Greenwood Saturday and took in the masquerade, returning to his school in the Huntzicker district, on Monday.
