The contract for sprinkling the streets made by citizens of this place with Ira McIntire expired last Saturday, and more than likely, there will be abundant reason to complain of dust before it freezes up, unless a new contract is made with Mr. McIntire or some other party, Ira has done this work in good shape, and he should be engaged to keep right along with the job until there is no further need of sprinkling to keep the dust down.

The republicans have sought to save themselves from defeat once more by nominating the man who was after their scalps. They have nominated for county clerk Mr. Charles F. Grow, a prominent democratic candidate for county treasurer. It is not likely that Mr. Grow will be diverted by this tub, as his inconsistency in accepting it would kill him among all parties.

The Greenwood Dramatic Club now have in rehearsal and will soon present to the people of that village and vicinity the highly sensations play entitled "The Social Glass". The following is the cast of characters: Charles Thornley Richard J. Stoker Dr. Slater Wm. W. Harlow Harold Hadley G. B. Andrews John Farley Joe Odgers Bob Brittle J. H. Miller James Hollis F. M. Stevens Eva Thornley Miss Amanda Richards Nettie Nettely Miss Belle Andrews Mrs. Farley Miss Jennie Dennis
