S. C. Boardman, ex-treasurer of the county, appeared before the county board yesterday and asked that the judgments held against him by the county, amounting to $9,566.66, be cancelled, for the reason that he was not justly indebted to the county, the deficiency for which he was held having been the result of the dishonest practices of his deputy, W. C. Allen, and for the further reason that he was unable to pay the amount demanded or any other amount to the county. The matter was referred to a special committee, the report of which was not favorable to granting the petition, and it was finally denied by the board.
