Lukowicz, Lucille (Marriage - 12 May 1919)

St. Mary's Catholic Church was handsomely decorated Monday morning with potted ferns and blue and white bunting in honor of the wedding which took place at 8:00 o'clock. The contracting parties were Miss Lucille Lukowicz, daughter of August Lukowicz and Mrs. Joseph George Dumas, son of Mrs. Rose Dumas of Chicago. The wedding was performed by Father Lachnit, the ceremony being the nuptial high mass.

When Miss Rose Mick at the organ commenced the music of the mass, the church was nearly filled with friends of the young couple, both from the city and country, and when the bride and groom came down the aisle, the scene was one of great beauty.

The bride was dressed in white chamois satin and georgette trimmed with embroidery beading and carried a large shower bouquet of white roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaid, Miss Anna Lukowicz, a sister of the bride, was dressed in Pigeon gray georgette and wore a large corsage of pink sweet peas. Mr. Felix Hansmann, a near friend of the groom, acted as best man.

At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party and invited guests went to the home of the bride's father, where a reception was given, the Misses Effie Frane and Rose Firnstahl ably assisting Mrs. Frank Lukowicz in serving the sumptuous dinner. The tables were prettily decorated with ferns and red roses tied with pink and white ribbons.

Congratulations followed with merry jest and cheerful conversation ,after which the newly wedded young couple autoed to Marshfield, from where they took the train for an extended wedding trip through the west.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. August Lukowicz. She is a young lady of many graces of mind and person, who is capable of filling the home she will adorn with happiness and will prove to be truly a helpmate and companion by the husband she has chosen to honor with her hand.

The groom has served one years in the U. S. Army and since his return, the first week in January, has been back to his old position as brakeman on the way fright running between Ladysmith and Spencer.

Those from out of town attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kroll, Mr. and Mrs. S. Kroll and daughter Lucille, Mr. Andrew Kroll, all of Edgar, Miss Julia Dumas and Mr. Felix Hansmann, both of Stevens Point.

The young couple will be at home to their many friends after July 1st in Ladysmith.
