The body of Private Richard E. Lindekugel, which arrived here from overseas on Wednesday, was buried with Military honors Thursday afternoon at the Loyal Cemetery, the funeral being held at the local Lutheran Church at two o'clock, Rev. E. Kemena officiating, assisted by Rev. Matter.

The services were attended by a large number of people who gathered to pay honor to the memory of one who gave his life for his country.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lindekugel, born in the town of Sherman, Clark County, Wis., Aug. 22, 1891. On May 28, 1918 he left for Camp Grant, later going to Camp Upham and on Sept. 8th sailed for France, arriving there Sept. 20th. He was a member of Co. A. of the 341 Infantry. During the influenza epidemic he was taken sick with the disease and died Oct. 20, 1918, burial being then in the American Cemetery at Lebourne, France.

He is survived by father, mother, two brothers and two sisters, besides other relatives.

He was a young man of good character and respected by everyone.

The American Legion and National Guards attended the funeral in a body and escorted the body to its last resting place.

As a mark of respect every business place was closed from 2 to 4 p.m.
