Nutting, Mr./Mrs. Frank (Gold Anniv - 20 Jul 1917)

A genuine surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. Nutting last Friday, the occasion being their golden wedding anniversary, when seventy-eight relatives, neighbors and friends gather at their home.

Mr. Nutting, who is 77 years old, and Mrs. Nutting, who is 73, were both born in Maine, Mr. Nutting coming to Wisconsin in 1861.

He returned to Maine in 1867, where he was married, returning with his wife about five years later to Wisconsin.

For 23 years they resided on their farm 1 1/2 miles south of the village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.), and for the past 17 years have lived in this village. They have three sons, Clifford, Will and Dumont, who with their wives and ten grandchildren were present at the wedding. The other out of town guests besides Mr. and Mrs. Dumont Nutting and children, present were Mr. and Mrs. Collins and Miss Blackwell of Jackson Co.

A bountiful dinner was enjoyed by those present, at the close of which W. S. Irvine, with a few well chosen words, presented Mr. and Mrs. Nutting with a $20 gold piece, as an expression of good wishes from the guests. Mr. Clock also made an appropriate speech, and Mrs. Mills recited an original poem.

It is the wish of the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Nutting that they live to enjoy many more anniversaries.
