Barnett, Hiram W. (21 Mar 1832 - 10 JUN 1915)

Hiram W. Barnett died at his home in the village of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., June 10, 1915, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 21 days.

Deceased was born in Jefferson Co., N.Y., March 21, 1832, where he grew to manhood. He came to Wisconsin in 1853, where he lived until 1877, when he moved to Kansas. In 1901 he came back to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Weston, Clark County on a farm and in 1913 he moved to his home in the village of Loyal, where he lived until his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Tillie foreman in 1856, to which union three children were born, one of which died when small, one son and one daughter are living to mourn his loss. His first wife died in 1862 and the same year he was united in marriage to Miss Silva Vilonia Ramsdale, to which union nine children were born, seven still living to mourn his death. On Aug. 14, 1862 he enlisted in the 21st infantry, where he served 3 years. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and was well liked by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, 2 sons and 7 daughters, who are as follows: Mrs. M. Coghey of Scotsville, Mich., George Barnett of Scotsville, Mich. Mrs. E. Clintsman of the town of Weston, Mrs. E. Shuman of Edgarton, Warren Barnett and Hattie Barnett at home, Abbie Holt of Pine City, Minn., Alma Babcock of Janesville and Mrs. C. Brimer of Weston. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the M. E. church, with interment in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. W. P. Powell officiating.
