Bauer, Peter (1857 - Feb 1915)

Peter Bauer was born in the town of Herman, Dodge Co., Wis. in the year 1857, where he lived until the age of 17 years, when he came to Hewitt, in the town of Marshfield, with his mother. He was united in marriage in 1882 with Miss Katherine Jansen and resided at Hewitt until they came to our village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) in 1898. In 1906 he purchased a farm in the town of Beaver,w ehre he resided until his death.

Deceased was well liked by his neighbors and acquaintances, for he was a man who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He was an honest and industrious farmer, a kind husband and loving father. His memory will ever be cherished by his family an numerous friends.

He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife and twelve children, who are: George Bauer, Nick Bauer, Wm. Bauer, Peter Bauer, Martin Bauer, Joe Bauer, Mrs. John Schuld, Mrs. Albert Roadt, Cecelia Bauer, Christina Bauer, Katherine Bauer, and Angleine Bauer, also three brothers and three sisters, who are, John Bauer of Ellenton, Nick Bauer at Auburndale, Johnnie Bauer at Marshfield, Mrs. Joseph Donhard at Marshfield, Mrs. Fred Korth at Marshfield and Mrs. Herman Zerler at Kiel.

He was a member of the Catholic Knights, in which organization he carried insurance of $1000 and under whose auspices the funeral was held from the Catholic Church last Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery, Rev. Joseph Stenz officiating. The bereaved family has the sympathy of their many friends.

The following were present at the funeral from out of town: Nick Bauer, Auburndale, Johnnie Bauer, Mrs. Joseph Donhard, Mrs. Fred Korth, Mrs. John Flasch, Mrs. Charles Heiler, all of Marshfield, Mr. George Bauer of Ellenton, Math. And Edward Bauer of Hewitt and Joe W. Guenteer of Auburndale.
